NWG Human Trafficking/Modern Slavery Act 2015 Training

The Human Trafficking legislation was repealed on the 31st of July 2015, and replaced by the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Therefore the NWG is offering all practitioners Child Trafficking training.

This will include;

  • Human Trafficking in relation to the UK with case studies, and examples of the different exploitation types.
  • The process of global Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery
  • New human trafficking legislation under the Modern Slavery Act 2015
  • How this can be used in relation to both migrant and UK children trafficked into and within the UK.
  • Victim identification and the National Referral Mechanism

Learning outcomes;

  • The NWG Human Trafficking Training will give the participants a good working knowledge of the Modern Slavery Act 2015,
  • Understand Human Trafficking and Slavery in the context of young people and CSE.
  • Understand the NWG exploitation process Recruitment Control exploitation.
  • There will be an introduction to the National Referral Mechanism and the statutory responsibility of agencies to refer potential victims. The understanding will help to ensure good quality referrals enabling positive outcomes for potential victims.
  • Case studies will explain the different types of exploitation currently being seen in the UK.
  • The coercive control module will develop the participant's ability to identify the type of control being exerted on the young person allowing the development of strategies to overcome them.
