Psychobiology Section Annual Scientific Meeting 2017

Psychobiology describes the interaction between biological systems and behaviour. Psychobiologists research how psychological factors like cognition, mood and appraisal combine with biological events like stress physiology, changes in brain function, and pharmacological effects, to shape the human experience. Striving to understand psychological and biological interactions provides psychobiology with a unique perspective on humanity.

The British Psychological Society Psychobiology Section Annual Scientific Meeting will be held 6th – 8th September 2017 on the shores of Lake Windermere. Features of the meeting include:

Learning Outcomes and Objectives

The meeting is open to all and provides opportunities to:

  • develop the confidence of postgraduate students in the art of academic conferencing
  • encourage undergraduate students to enter an academic psychobiology career via the undergraduate project prize
  • all this in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere away from the bustle of the everyday workplace

Who is the course intended for?

This conference welcomes academic psychologists, postgraduate and undergraduate students.

Call for Submissions

Submissions for this annual scientific meeting were accepted until 23:59 on Sunday 16th July 2017. Thank you to all those that have submitted, we will be in touch as soon as possible following review.

Two Funded Post-Graduate Places

The Section is funding two free places at our Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) for registered postgraduate students.

Postgraduates wishing to be awarded one of these places should submit a summary (maximum 1,000 words) concerning the work from which their submission arises in addition to an abstract. Please submit the summary to Dr Richard Stephens at rsehn@el.cu.tpeskeea.k.

Entries for these places must be received by 23:59 on 14th July 2017. However, should any places remain unfilled beyond this date then at the discretion of the committee the additional awards may be made on a first come first served basis. These awards cover the registration fee and accommodation at the Low Wood Hotel.
