Perinatal Psychology Networking Event

Monday 14th January 2019 at University of Liverpool in London

Perinatal psychologists have a key role in the development of new perinatal services around the country. Over the last 2 years, newly recruited perinatal psychologists have worked hard to network in the midst of other training events, in order to learn from the experiences of others in their field. This event is designed to give psychologists a platform to share what they have learnt, and develop contacts that they can utilise moving forward.

The day will be focused around meeting others from around the country and discussing key issues such as:

  • Perinatal psychology provision
  • Setting up evidence based interventions - barriers and problem solving
  • Offering consultation to the wider perinatal pathway

To facilitate discussion of these topics there will be special interest stations that individuals can sign up to, in order to share their experiences and get questions answered by practitioners who have successful systems set up in other areas.

There will also be time at the end of the day to break off into geographical sectors, to discuss issues that may be faced locally with regards to service provision, and to set up an ongoing network if there is not already one set up.

Learning outcomes and objectives:

  • To network with other psychologists in perinatal mental health
  • To learn about service provision in other parts of the country
  • To share and receive practical resources and tips

Who is the course intended for?

Psychologists currently working in perinatal mental health teams, either in the community, inpatient or infant mental health services.
