The theme of the conference will be “Ageing in Modern Times”. In the UK today, we have more people living longer with long term conditions, co-morbid mental health problems and dementia and our services are challenged with how to meet the needs of this group. At the same time we see the “baby boomers” who often do not feel that they are “older people” by traditional older adult service definition and they are challenging us to provide something that meets their needs better. Innovations in technology, advances in therapeutic practice / third-wave therapies, and outcomes of recent research can help us with meeting these challenges and to work in better, smarter ways.
This conference will be of interest to psychologists working with older adults, trainee psychologists and assistant psychologists working in the field. This conference will update attendees on the latest developments from the FPOP work streams in Dementia, Neurodegenerative disorders, and inpatients. Invited keynote speakers and workshops will include experts from areas such as leadership, functional mental health disorders and dementia care.
