DHP Scotland AGM and Annual Scientific Meeting

Monday 22nd February 2016 at University of Strathclyde, Glasgow

The Post-Graduate Workshop (9.30-12.30) has the preliminary topic of changing health professional behavior in international settings. The workshop is open to psychology post-graduates (MSc and PhD), and health psychologists in training (stage 2 registered). The workshop requires pre-registration via the appropriate booking tab. Cost of the workshop is £24, which includes VAT and entry to the Annual Scientific Meeting.

The Post-Graduate Workshop

We are delighted to announce the first DHP-Scotland postgraduate workshop of 2016, which will be held in the morning before the Annual Scientific Meeting on Monday 22nd February. Drs Jo Hart and Lucie Byrne-Davis from the University of Manchester will be facilitating an information session and workshop: Global Health Psychology: Volunteering? Research? Consultancy?

Global Health Psychology, in the form of The Change Exchange, involves Health Psychologists working in low and middle-income countries to improve the performance of healthcare professionals. Starting in 2016, volunteer Health Psychologists and Behavioural Scientists will visit Uganda, Ethiopia and Mozambique for 10 weeks and provide knowledge about theories and interventions.

This is a great opportunity to hear about this unique and exciting project, learn about some of the future work and find out where Health Psychology could take you! You can read more about the project in the this Psychologist article.

This will take place in the Scottish Universities Insight Institute. In Institute is at the University of Strathclyde, Collins Building, 22 Richmond Street, Glasgow, G1 1XQ.


(13.15-14.00) The AGM will take place in the Senate Room, Collins Building, 22 Richmond Street, Glasgow G1 1XQ. The AGM is open to DHP members only.

The Annual Scientific Meeting

(14.15-17.45) The ASM will take place in the Senate Room, Collins Building, 22 Richmond Street, Glasgow G1 1XQ. The Annual Scientific Meeting is open to all and requires pre-registration via the online booking form.

A wine reception will follow the Annual Scientific Meeting.

Who is the course intended for?

Post-Graduate and Health Psychology Trainee workshop is available to postgraduate students (MSc and PhD) and Trainee Health Psychologists only.

The Annual Scientific Meeting will be of interest to post-graduate students, applied psychologists in training, researchers, practitioner psychologists with an interest in health and allied health professionals
