Essential Knowledge of Neuropsychology for Practitioner Psychologists

Thursday 2nd July 2015 - Friday 3rd July 2015 at BPS Offices, Tabernacle Street, London

This two-day workshop aims to assist those psychologists who often work therapeutically with clients but wish to consider the impact of changes in brain function due to illness (physical-mental) or injury. The focus will primarily be on neuropsychology rather than psychotherapy with the acknowledgement that awareness of both disciplines are needed to best serve our clients. Attendees will be given the opportunity in a small group setting to consider incorporating knowledge gained into their assessment and treatment planning.

This 2 days training is intended as a “top up” for those practitioner psychologists who have not had access to training in the fundamentals neuropsychology. Knowledge of these areas is increasingly required as part of present day competences for all psychologists and as such these workshops will provide access to such training.

Who is the workshop intended for?

This workshop is aimed at applied psychologists, already qualified or at the later stages of training who wish to enhance and incorporate such knowledge in their clinical practice. It will be particularly useful for those psychologists who did not have the opportunity to study neuropsychology as part of their original training.
