Monday 23rd May 2016 - Tuesday 24th May 2016 at BPS Offices, Tabernacle Street, London

Please note this event is now fully booked and we are operating a waiting list. If you would like to register on the waiting list please follow the booking link below.

This two-day workshop aims to assist those psychologists who often work therapeutically with clients but wish to consider the impact of changes in brain function due to illness (physical-mental) or injury. The focus will primarily be on neuropsychology rather than psychotherapy with the acknowledgement that awareness of both disciplines are needed to best serve our clients. Attendees will be given the opportunity in a small group setting to consider incorporating knowledge gained into their assessment and treatment planning.

Who is the event for?

This workshop is aimed at counselling psychologists, already qualified or towards the completion of their training who wish to enhance and include such knowledge in their clinical practice. It will also be useful for those counselling psychologists who did not study neuropsychology as part of their original training.

Learning outcomes and objectives:

  1. Knowledge of brain anatomy
  2. The impact of brain injury
  3. Common disorders which impact upon brain functioning
  4. Ability to integrate neuropsychological knowledge within assessments
  5. Ability to integrate neuropsychological knowledge in treatment planning
