This CPD event is the first to be organised by the Counselling Psychology Forum North East (CoPFNE). A key aim of the Forum is to bring more CPD events to the North East and we are offering a full day workshop on leadership for Psychologists.
In the morning the President Elect of the BPS, Nicola Gale, will give a talk on leadership for Psychologists, followed by facilitated group discussions.
This is followed by a workshop on leadership theory and skills, led by Tim Cate, Professional Head of Psychology and Allied Health Professions at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV).

Who is the event for?

This workshop will be helpful to all trainee and applied Psychologists, whether they wish to prepare for a professional career in Psychology, aspire to progress into leadership positions, or already find themselves in positions, where leadership is required.

Learning outcomes and objectives:

  1. After attending this workshop delegates will have an understanding and knowledge of models and frameworks of leadership and challenges for applied psychology and be able to apply the models to their own practice
  1. Leading on organisational change and transition will be addressed and delegates will acquire knowledge which will enable them to better understand and lead themselves on organisational change

Professional Head of Psychology and Allied Health Professions at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV)

Tim Cate was previously Chair of the Division of Clinical Psychology and has been head of service in NHS for over 16 years. His leadership experience includes leading on the New Ways of Working for applied psychologists leadership work stream and he supported Improving Access to Psychological Therapies, both on a national level.
