We are pleased to announce that the 8th International Conference will be held at The Midland. The impressive building stands proud in the heart of Manchester's city centre, and over the course of its 100 year history, the hotel has played host to Kings, Queens, Presidents, Prime Ministers and rock stars.
Our theme this year is 'A Wider Perspective'. We will be looking at how mental health can be affected by outside influences such as physical health. Our annual international psychiatric pharmacy conference is the flagship event in our calendar. We provide delegates with opportunities to explore clinical and strategic issues, to share good practice, to learn from each other and to enable networking.
Our conference programme is designed to inspire, educate and enthuse. We invite eminent speakers to deliver keynote sessions, and we offer a mix of plenary sessions, workshops, presentations and poster sessions. Through these, we aim to gain insight into the latest developments in mental health pharmacy, and to share good practice. In addition, we host a medical exhibition which can be visited during breaks and over lunch.
We welcome delegates from around the world. A highlight of the conference is always the Brett Hill Memorial Lecture where we invite speakers with lived experience of mental health problems to share their insights with us. Topics can be varied, but this session is usually moving, informative and highly valued by delegates.
"Thank you for an inspiring, fascinating and fun conference! Excellent speakers and great enthusiasm all round!"
"#CMHP16 has been fantastic - thanks to CMHP for organising! Great to meet lots of people for the first time & catch up with old friends!"
"Great opening session [Brett Hill Memorial Lecture] - brilliant insight into service user involvement in research and patient care."
To whet your appetite, why not have a look at the TED talk delivered by one of our confirmed speakers Dr Ben Sessa. He is a consultant psychiatrist in adult addictions, working part-time at Addaction in Weston-Super-Mare and senior research fellow at Bristol, Cardiff and Imperial College London.
