Women In Business Lunch with Vanessa Feltz

Business Women from all over Derbyshire came together last Thursday at Pride Park Stadium, for a truly memorable lunch with guest speaker, Vanessa Feltz.

The event was organised by the newly formed - K C Jones conference& events Ltd of Vernon Gate, Derby in association with BPW, Business and Professional Women UK Ltd. Throughout the lunch, business women from a variety of industry sectors enjoyed a splendid lunch and were regaled with tales of Vanessa's fascinating media career as well as her own personal triumphs.

With Vanessa currently filming 'Cosmetic Surgery Live' on Channel 5, there were lots of snippets of the behind the scenes goings-on and the frantic work schedule for this lively single mother of two. From the moment Vanessa took the microphone the laughter was non-stop - this Cambridge English graduate and former journalist has to be one of the most eloquent and humorous speakers around. To see over two hundred and fifty women in one room, just helpless with laughter was a sight to behold.

The event sponsors - Harper Recruitment, Maple Accountancy, along with Kate Lee Associates and the Derbyshire Learning and Skills Council talked briefly about their own areas of expertise and their pleasure in being associated with the event. All in all, the lunch proved to be a resounding success and hopefully, one of many more to come for the women of Derbyshire. "We like to invite our clients to events such as these" said Kate Sealy, Partner at McGregor's Corporate, "But this has to be the best one ever, congratulations to all involved."

A date for the diary is the Women in Business Conference on 17th February 2005 to be held at East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham. Rebecca Cadman-Jones of K C Jones said "This is a rare and unparalled opportunity for all women in business to listen to successful female entrepreneurs present their experiences and explain how they did it."

The event will be a whole day of keynote speakers - amongst them are, Dame Anita Roddick, Founder of the Body Shop, Celebrity singer and actress Toyah Wilcox and Perween Warsi, CBE of Derby's S&A Foods. There will be a choice of Workshops including - "Woman in a Man's World" and "Body Language in Business", hosted by Big Brother psychologist Judi James.
