ESF Provider Event
Venue: Leicester Marriott Hotel
Date:Friday 28th November 2008
Introduction
The European Social Fund (ESF) programme for England and Gibraltar for 2007-2013 will invest £65 million in the East Midlands, (managed by the LSC) for two key priorities:
1.Extending employment opportunities by tackling barriers to work faced by people who are unemployed or disadvantaged in the labour market;2.Developing a skilled and adaptable workforce by training people who lack basic skills and good qualifications. Earlier this year the first round of the tendering process was completed, with £65 million being allocated to over 70 providers who demonstrated an ability to implement relevant and sustainable projects that would achieve the desirable outcomes that would meet the key priorities.
The LSC with Jobcentre Plus and consortia of local authorities are acting as co-financing organisations - overseen by Government Office East Midlands (GOEM) on behalf of the Managing Authority (DWP ESF Dept)
This one-day event is designed to help new and existing ESF providers understand the issues affecting the successful delivery of projects funded through ESF and will provide an important contribution to successful project delivery.
This event aims to bring together up to 140 relevant providers, sub-contractors and representatives from the co-financing organisations and GOEM to formally acknowledge the launch of the funding, introduce the new provider guidance and get to grips with ESF project best practice.
If you wish to register for this event, being held on Friday 28th November, please complete the online booking form. If you have any queries please contact us via the event hotline on 01332 224506.
