Civil Service East Midlands Seminar
Venue: Government Office East Midlands
Date:Sunday 15th March 2009
Introduction
This event is for all senior civil servants in the East Midlands to find out more about this pioneering programme the purpose of which is to develop and promote the “Civil Service Brand” in ways which better reflect its values.
The challenge presented by Sir Gus O’Donnell, Head of the Civil Service and Sir Leigh Lewis, Permanent Secretary for the Department of Work and Pensions, was to look at the civil service from a regional perspective, as opposed to that of individual departments and agencies, to see how we can market and make best use of a Civil Service Brand.
The aim is to develop the civil service to meet the needs and challenges of the 21st century by establishing infrastructure and systems to enable employers to work more collaboratively and efficiently to achieve the challenges of the future.
Civil Service East Midlands will work with all departments to build on the strengths of the civil service in the region. We want to develop a civil service in the East Midlands which attracts, develops and keeps people from all backgrounds and offers much more than just a job.
Sir David Normington from the Home Office, our Permanent Secretary Sponsor, will attend and share his aspirations for the programme and there will also be a message from Sir Gus O’Donnell.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS BY INVATION ONLY.
