Psychological Therapies in Acquired Neurological Disorders
Venue: Thistle Euston, London
Date: Friday 14th September 2012
Introduction
Over recent years there have been interesting developments regarding the role of psychological therapies as part of neuro-rehabilitation. The provision of psychological therapy is currently also receiving more attention on the wider healthcare agenda with initiatives such as IAPT.
This Division of Neuropsychology CPD Training Day will be of interest to neuropsychologists and clinical psychologists as well as others providing psychological interventions in the NHS, independent provider and academic settings among many others, as part of rehabilitation programmes, research projects or specialist assessments.
While the day should prove particularly relevant to those whose work include psychological therapy input for individuals, groups, couples or families, it should also be of interest to neuropsychologists and psychological therapists who simply want to learn more about the potential role of these approaches in their own practice. Hands-on clinical and research perspectives will be provided by experienced speakers in the field. Broad areas include service models, theoretical approaches, evidence-based trans-diagnostic approaches, short-term intensive psychodynamic therapy, and adaptations to practice and outcomes. Approaches for adult, paediatric and older adult populations will be covered during the day.
