Sport and Exercise Psychology in Action

Venue: The Academy Conference Centre, Holiday Inn, Portsmouth
Date: Wednesday 10th October 2012

Introduction

The BPS Wessex Branch, in collaboration with University of Chichester and University of Portsmouth, invites you to attend the forthcoming Sport and Exercise psychology conference.

This event is for everyone interested in exploring the application of sport and exercise psychology in practice. The conference will enable delegates to benefit from the practical experiences of practitioners and academics who will present contemporary findings from working with individuals and Olympic teams. This will allow delegates to consider how they could implement these approaches for themselves, or their organisation.

The conference will showcase the application of a wide range of Sport and Exercise Psychology. Three parallel sessions based on the main themes of Applied Sport Psychology, Exercise and Health Psychology and Olympic reflections will offer an extensive range of speakers discussing their working practices and reflecting on specific cases.

Keynote speakers:

- Dr Tim Holder
(University of Chichester & English Institute of Sport, Sport Psychologist for GB               Synchronized Swimming Team)

- Dr Richard Thelwell
(University of Portsmouth, Applied Sport Psychologist)

- Dr Anna Campbell
  (University of Dundee, Cancer Rehabilitation)

Fees include a three course restaurant lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
