Professional Development Study Day
This event is for all clinical psychologists with an interest in working with children, young people and families. The Faculty is committed to supporting the membership with high quality CPD opportunities and will be running study days in addition to the annual conference. These will be designed to provide up to date information on key professional and clinical issues of the moment to support you in your practice. They will be of interest to all clinical psychologists at all levels of experience
Professional Update
Dr Jenny Taylor, Chair of DCP, will be presenting her model of clinical psychology as an applied science, exploring what this means and how it can support the profession in the changing public sector.
Dr Duncan Law, Chair of the CYP Faculty, has been closely involved in the development of Children and Young People's IAPT and will be presenting the latest information on this, with a particular focus on using service user feedback and outcome tools to improve clinical practice. There will also be an opportunity to discuss this work and to feed your views into the CYP IAPT process.
Clinical Update
Dr Cathy Creswell, MRC Clinician Scientist Fellow - Winnicott Unit , University of Reading and Co-Director Berkshire Child Anxiety Clinic- has been involved in research on anxiety in children for a number of years and has co-authored with Lucy Willetts books for parent including "Overcoming your Child's Fears and Worries". She will be presenting her latest work on low intensity guided self help for childhood anxiety at the study day.
