We would like to strongly encourage students to submit their papers.
Since it is a busy time of the year, we have extended the deadline for paper submission till 23rd March.
We will select the best two paper submissions and also announce the best paper presentation on the day. The award recipients will be exempt from the workshop fees.
Call for Papers:
The 'DOP Work Life Balance' working group is pleased to announce its forthcoming postgraduate workshop, ‘Researching The Work/Non-Work Interface'.
This one-day workshop aims to share knowledge and findings on a range of issues relating to the work/non-work interface amongst postgraduates, with special attention placed on emerging theories and methodological approaches. The workshop will be interactive, and include presentations and discussions focused on improving our future knowledge and research on the work/non-work interface. It will also include keynote talks delivered by well known scholars in the field. Postgraduates (MSc/PhD) are encouraged to submit papers on research in-progress or recently completed studies, as well as those offering news ideas developed from literature reviews.
We encourage the submission of a variety of paper (as well as poster) formats including:
- Theory - papers utilising/proposing/reviewing new or less widely used theories in relation to work/non-work interface issues
- Methodology - research papers that focus on new ways of conceptualising/researching the work/non-work interface
- Knowledge - research findings and reviews that expand our current knowledge of the work/non-work interface
Relevant topics may include work-life balance, flexible working, dual career couples, balancing childcare with work demands, diversity and difference in work-life balance, the sandwich generation, lifespan perspectives.
Submission Instructions:
In your submission, please include the following information:
I.Authors and place of study. First name followed by surname then place of study - presenting author MUST be the first author and main contact for the submission
II.Title of abstract: Full title of submission
III.Type of the submission: paper or poster
IV.Type of the submission: theory, methodology or knowledge focused
V.Abstract. Abstracts should have no more 1000 words. The abstract should include a problem statement, motivation, approach, brief results (if applicable), and conclusions.
Please use APA formatting guidelines.
All submissions must be emailed to: WLBpostgradevent@bps.org.uk. Once your application has been submitted you will receive an email notification of receipt.
Submission Deadline: Midnight - 23rd March.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER REGARDING DECISIONS
The papers will be reviewed by the scientific and organising committee and decisions regarding the acceptance of all submissions will be made by 30th March. Once the decisions are communicated they become final and can not be disputed.
