National Apprenticeship Service Update Briefing
Venue: Yew Lodge Hotel, Kegworth
Date:Tuesday 28th September 2010
Introduction
Although the new coalition Government is introducing many changes across our sector, Apprenticeships remain a high priority for ministers.
New policies, priorities and programmes are the focus of many government departments, and the announcement of the voluntary transfer of £150 million from Train to Gain to support 50,000 Apprenticeship starts, gave a clear indication to the direction of travel for the role of Apprenticeships in the upskilling of the UK plc workforce.
To keep you up to date with progress, we invite you to attend this essential briefing which is key if you are directly involved in the management of Apprenticeships.
The National Apprenticeship Service will present:
- Context Policy
- An update on performance, budgets and the commissioning process
- Funding and allocations update
- Programme Led Apprenticeships
Performance and priorities going forward
- Growth in Apprenticeships
- Drive to increase vacancies
- Issues faced by providers?
(This session will be followed by group discussion and involvement)
An update on ESF and Nextsteps.
There will also be ample opportunity to find out more and ask questions.
Our invitation is extended to Colleges and Training Providers responsible for Apprenticeships delivered in the region.
