In 2007, emda was given the responsibility of managing the 2007-13 ERDF programme across the region to provide alignment between ERDF, regional funding streams and the priorities of the East Midlands Regional Economic Strategy.
ERDF helps to tackle regional disparities and support regional development across the European Union's (EU's) Member States, providing regions with funding for projects which contribute to their economic development and regeneration, promote competitiveness and deliver sustainable development.
The strategic objective of the East Midlands 2007-13 ERDF Competitiveness Programme is to ‘become a region of highly productive, innovative and sustainable businesses and support the most disadvantaged of our communities to realise their economic potential.
emda, as the manager for the East Midlands 2007-13 ERDF Competitiveness Programme, will be holding an annual information event for the Programme. Aimed at ERDF stakeholders, partners and project managers, the event will:
- Inform delegates of past, present and future Programme developments
- Showcase some of the excellent projects being supported by the Programme
- Provide workshops for ERDF partners and project managers to address common delivery issues.
The event is being held on Wednesday 13 October at the University of Derby Enterprise Centre (DE1 3LA) and is anticipated to attract approximately 150 delegates. As part of the event, ERDF Project Managers will be given the opportunity to attend a facilitated networking session and two workshops held as follows:
- Networking session - facilitated by the ERDF team will provide an networking opportunity for similar projects to meet, identify links and exchange contact details
- Workshop A - ERDF Article 16 Audit Visits (Delivered by Paul Gethings, Internal Audit Service, Department for Communities and Local Government)
- Workshop B - ERDF Publicity (Delivered by Melanie Crunkhorn, ERDF team, East Midlands Development Agency)
