Research tells us that the education system is not providing young people with the skills and attributes that they need for the workplace. What skills do school-leavers need to have before they start work? What needs to change about the way that young people are taught to give them these skills?
The General Election will take place on 6 May 2010, and we will have a new term of Government with new policies. Now is the time for small businesses to have their say on education, and to tell politicians how the education system needs to change to meet the needs of businesses.
The Federation of Small Businesses and Edge invite businesses to come and share their opinions on education and how the education system needs to change. Come and tell us how schools and colleges can give young people the skills that they need for the workplace. Come and give us your key messages for the next Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families. Come and find out how Apprenticeships and Graduate Internships can benefit your business.
The views and messages that you give us at the event will be presented to the newly elected Government, and will be used to lobby the newly elected MPs in the East Midlands.
