Charles is The Guardian's Technology editor, writing for both the weekly print supplement and technology part of the website. Whether covering major stories about Google, the launch of the iPad, or the Mobile Internet, Charles is as the sharp end of agenda-setting technology stories
Previously, he spent nearly 10 years as science and technology writer at The Independent, and has also written for New Scientist, and Computer Weekly. He's also written about sports, medicine, business and ... indeed it would probably be simpler to say what he hasn't written about.

Kelly Herrick: Abacus Lighting Ltd (Marketing Manager)
After joining Abacus Lighting, an international exterior lighting business, Kelly started to transform communications using on line tools such as Twitter. With an extensive background in marketing, working on brand strategy and communications across a range of consumer and B2B brands, she is utilising the low-cost/no-cost marketing techniques of social media to build profile and engage target markets. Launching products, facilitating industry discussions and presenting distributors with an online forum are all part of her social media strategy for 2010.

Richard Flewitt: New Edge
Richard Flewitt is a Video Consultant with a wealth of experience working for clients including Vision Express, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Chrysler Daimler, the NHS, and Alton Towers. Prior to establishing New Edge in 2003, Richard worked in Broadcast TV production (Carlton TV) where he produced news and factual programmes.
His approach to video challenges the dated, traditional corporate video style, by using the much more ‘user friendly' and immediate approach from the world of factual television. The focus of New Edge films is very much on the message, or story contained in a film, and the people around whom the story centres. His passion for helping clients to find the most appropriate style and language to communicate messages that will engage an audience and inspire them to take action.

Mark Shaw: Nutshell (Creative Director)
In 1997 Mark founded Jupiter Design, one of the UK's top 25 design agencies. He is now a minority shareholder of the £6m design agency having sold the business in 2010.
He is the author of "Copywriting: successful writing for design, advertising and marketing." This best-seller ranks #2 in Amazon's "Bestsellers in Writing" category, and is currently being reprinted in America where it is a top student publication.
Now, Mark is the Creative Director of a small design and brand management studio called Nutshell, and a Design Associate with the UK Design Council.
Mark also runs a weekly column, 'Mark Shaw's creative Nottingham' in the Nottingham Evening Post, and is a Business Champion for the East Midlands.

Originally trained in psychology, Mike was a professional designer and then Professor of Design and Communication before setting up his own e-commerce consultancy in 2001.
