The Business Skills Conference - Grow, Perform, Succeed...

Venue: East Midlands Conference Centre
Date: Monday 1st February 2010

Introduction

"Skills are a key part of our plan for economic recovery, and an urgent challenge. This country's future can only be built by people who have the skills demanded by modern work in a globalised economy.

Skilled people are more productive, they are more innovative, and they build stronger businesses. Skills give individuals wider options; they climb higher, earn more and get more work out. And skilled people are the foundation of successful businesses."

Lord Peter Mandelson
Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills

How will we rise to this challenge?

The East Midlands business support organisations invite you to attend a half day conference with a difference. During the day you will have the opportunity to hear from other employers and employees, supported by their business adviser or provider, their experiences and benefits to accessing Government funded services to develop the skills of their workforce and contribute to the regeneration of the local economy. Our keynote speaker, Mark Gallagher from Cosworth and Formula One will share his inspiration in leadership, motivation and teamwork.

There will also be an opportunity to attend a skills surgery - direct face to face contact with an adviser who will arrange to visit you and explain what is available to your organisation, where the funding can be accessed and which providers can deliver the quality provision your business requires along with workshops and exhibitors.

As we appreciate time in the workplace is precious we will be deliver this event twice throughout the day, creating two half day conferences, AM 9.15am-1.30pm and PM 12.30pm-4.00pm.
