HSBC Start Up Stars Award

KC Jones conference&events have reached the final shortlist of the HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards 2005. The awards were launched five years ago with the aim of seeking out the very best and brightest of the UK’s rising business stars.

The Nationwide awards are for businesses throughout the country, under three years old, run by people who can prove that they have the skills, commitment and enthusiasm to create a thriving operation. Having deliberated over a "level and quantity of entries that were outstanding", the short-listing panel was particularly impressed with the KC Jones entry and has short listed them for the awards which will be held at London’s Savoy hotel in October this year. The top prize money is £20,000, with judging being held in September.

KC Jones conference&events was started in February 2004 by Rebecca Cadman-Jones, last year’s turnover was around £350,000 and now employs six staff and is growing again to manage the forthcoming workload. "It’s been a fantastic time for us," said Rebecca, Director. "The team have put a lot of effort into this first year, with over forty events under our belt. Just getting into the finals has been a real boost for us because it means we have succeeded in the goals that we set out for ourselves from the very beginning. We are very well known in the East Midlands, but being involved in a national award, brings the potential for nationwide promotion of our services. I am very proud to have got this far and we will all be keeping our fingers crossed for the judging in September".
