| Introduction | Agenda | Workshops | Directions to Catalis | Booking Form | This year, the Skills for Life Conference is to be held on Friday 23rd February 2007 at Catalis Conferencing Centre. This event is aimed at practitioners and managers involved in Skills for Life and builds on the success of last years event. We hope that it will be even better! Once again, the Conference will be chaired by Jane Peacock, Skills for Life Regional Director for East Midlands LSC. The Derbyshire Learning Partnership are really pleased to have secured as their keynote speakers Bruce Bond from AlphaPlus and Gillian Parry from BTL who will talk about their work on TotallySkilled, Embedding Skills for Life in Vocational Qualifications. AlphaPlus and BTL are the two partner organisations involved in the project which is sponsored by the Skills for Life Strategy Unit (DfES) with work being carried out under the direction of QCA. The post lunch entertainment will be provided by the Whitemoor Theatre Group. The group consists of attendees of the Whitemoor Day Centre in Belper and has been running for around 20 years. They have performed at the Derby Playhouse among other venues and will present a sketch based around anti-bullying.
Avanti Books will also be displaying their books and taking orders on the day. There are 100 free places available. To secure a place at this conference please complete the booking form by 12th February 2007.
