| Introduction | Programme | Venue | Booking Form | In 2003, Metro (West Yorkshire PTE) secured over £18m of major scheme funding from the Department for Transport in order to implement 150 yellow buses in the county. But did the scheme deliver on its promises of high mode shift from car, improved behaviour, and wider educational benefits? What are the lessons for others on how to deliver such services without the support of DfT funding? And what does it suggest for other measures to promote public transport to young people? The conference will provide feed back on the results of the scheme and a platform to discuss how Local Authorities, PTEs, operators and other agencies can use the findings from the project to achieve patronage growth, reduced congestion, educational attainment and social benefits. The conference is aimed at anyone with an interest in providing and promoting public transport to young people.
